Validation technologies
Validation is the activation of the ticket, marking the beginning of the timespan of validity. This action can be performed by:
- final users
- gates
- validators
- inspectors
Multiple validation technologies
- QR code/barcode on the digital or paper ticket to be read by the inspector, the gate or the validator
- QR Code/barcode sticker to be framed by the smartphone of the user
- Passive NFC (HCE mode) on the smartphone of the users to be read by the inspector, the gate or the validator
- Active NFC on the smartphone of the user to read a NFC passive tag
- Alphanumeric code to be inserted in the app by the user
- Bluetooth communication between the smartphone of the user and the validators/gates
- Geofencing depending on user position, taking advantage of mobile devices’ GPS capabilities
